Mathematics is the study of the measurement, properties, and relationships of quantities, using numbers and symbols. Not only does studying mathematics strengthen critical and analytical problem-solving skills, it is both a scientific profession and a tool essential to many other scientific disciplines and careers. Mathematicians have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on many different fields including Physics, Economics, Computer Science, Psychology and Government. 

CUA Mathematicians have access to a variety of careers, including jobs in industry, government, business, the actuarial profession, teaching at the elementary or secondary levels and, with the appropriate advanced degrees, teaching at the community college, college or university levels.
