The Catholic University of America

Exploratory

The University recognizes that many entering freshmen are uncertain about which field they will select for a mjaor. These students self-select as exploratory majors (EM) and are assigned to an EM advisor through the Center for Academic Success at the beginning of their freshman year. To assist in the descision making process, these advisors can discuss university programs, recommend course schedules and refer students to the appropriate recources. All CUA students must select a major in one of the academic departments by the beginning of their junior year.
