The University recognizes that many entering freshmen are uncertain about which field they will select for a major. These students self-select as exploratory majors (EM) and are assigned to an EM advisor through the Center for Academic Success at the beginning of their freshman year. To assist in the decision-making process, these advisors can discuss university programs, recommend course schedules and refer students to the appropriate resources. All CUA students must select a major in one of the academic departments by the beginning of their junior year.
