The following includes a list of the DC Public High Schools willing to process WORK PERMIT paper work.

 

 

DC High Schools:

 

  1. Click on the name of the high school for directions to the school
  2. Only directions to the school are provided.  Should you decide to drive or take public transit, you may want to look up directions for how to get back to campus. 
  3. All the directions were found either through google maps, mapquest, and DC Metro trip planner. (The DC Metro trip planner is located in the upper left hand of the webpage.)

 

Benjamin Banneker Academic High School 


The estimated travel time one way is:

  • 30 to 45 min public transit.
  • 47 to 50 min walk.
  • 6 to 10 min drive.

 

Cardozo Senior High School

The estimated travel time one way is:

  • 40 to 60 min public transit.
  • 40 to 60 min walk.
  • 6 to 10 min drive.

 

Luke C. Moore Academy High School

The estimated travel time one way is:

  • 5 to 10 min walk.
  • 1 to 3 min drive.

McKinley Technology High School

The estimated travel time one way is:

  • 30 to 45 min public transit.
  • 25 to 30 min walk.
  • 6 to 10 min drive.

 

 

 

 

The District of Columbia requires individuals under the age of 18 to obtain a work permit.

 


Required Documentation:

  1. Copy of birth certificate or valid passport (not a copy)
  2. Copy of Social Security card
  3. Parent signed "Official Work Permit & Child Labor Application" (DC work permit)
  4. CUA supervisor supplied letter on letterhead indicating the students name, job title, what he/she will be doing, number of hours per week, and days per week, along with CUA supervisors signature.
