Wednesday, September 10 - Congressional Veterans Jobs Caucus Veterans Employment Forum

Senator Manchin III, Senator Kirk, Representative Denham, and Representative Walz warmly welcome all veterans as well as Active, Reserve, National Guard, military families, and supporters to a veteran employment focused forum at our Nation’s Capitol.
There are two parts to the employment forum:
(1)Round Robin Engagement: 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Participants will have a chance to engage with military
veteran business leaders in a small group setting. This rare opportunity for veterans offers a chance to discuss
concerns and gather advice from experienced leaders who have worked their way to the top.
(2)Roundtable Discussion: 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Discussion of national veteran employment issues, options for policy, and best practices gathered over many years of
business and political experience.

• Are you a recent graduate looking to launch your career in international development? Are you an entry-level professional looking for new and exciting opportunities in the field? If you fall into either of these categories, plan to attend the 2014 SID-Washington Career Fair on Wednesday, October 8th. The Career Fair is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with representatives from some of the most cutting-edge organizations in the field today.
• In addition to the exhibit halls, the Fair will feature a short program. Representatives from the U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of State, the World Bank, and the Peace Corps will discuss what it takes to get the 'it' job in international development at each of their organizations. We will also have an interactive workshop focusing on important career-building skills, including resume construction, salary negotiation, and creating the perfect and professional online persona.
